May is a busy month for us. With the end of the school year wrapping up, my husband’s birthday, my nephew’s birthday, hockey, lacrosse, lacrosse tournaments, baseball starting up, soccer ending, Memorial Day and lots of other odds and ends to add up in there. Last year I mistakingly planned our big vacation around Memorial Weekend and I won’t be doing that again. The kids missed too many end of the year things with school and when your planning months in advance, you don’t realize that those things might fall in there. But we still had a great family vacation even if they had to miss a few school activities. Memories that will last a lifetime. Let me know what you’d like to see in my blog posts, I’m trying to blog more about my craft ideas, recipes and things our family does.

It’s been awhile since I’ve updated on here! I guess I need to get started back into blogging! We’ve been a bit busy during the winter months!
Both of my son’s play hockey, so this year my oldest son, Brody, played Pee-Wee House and my youngest son, Caden, played Mite House hockey. With both of them in sports, it’s pretty much every day we had something to do so it was very hard to get anything else accomplished all winter long!
I love to watch them play hockey though, it’s truly something they both love to do. Some say we are crazy because of the cost, the time commitments or the busy schedule but you know what? It keeps them from spending tons of hours just sitting in front of the TV or iPad, it keeps them physically active and it makes them gain new friend’s that they wouldn’t of met at school. Hockey brings all different towns around us together and we have met some great families because of hockey! They truly become “family” since we see each other so often and it’s a great time for parents too. Both kids are playing other sports this spring, Brody is playing lacrosse and Caden is doing soccer and hockey right now. I love that they love sports and it’s great to sit around and watch NHL games and listen to them talk about stats and information about sports together. It’s a great brotherly bonding experience.
Anyways enough with my kids and there sports! Let’s get into the good stuff, my crafts! I’m still working and selling things through my Etsy Shop and my Facebook page! It was a bit slower these winter months just because I didn’t have the time to commit to making new things for everyone but I still try and keep the fresh juices going for new ideas! Come on over and send me a message! I also have a VIP Group too, let me know if you’d like to get added to it!

Both of my son’s play hockey and our family LOVES the Detroit Red Wings. So when my youngest said he would like to have an ice skating party, I was all for it! We hosted it at our local hockey rink and we had all his friends come and join. Now we knew going in that a lot of his friends might not be able to ice skate but it’s fun for all ages and they all still had a blast!
But while I was searching Pinterest for ideas on how to make his party even more special, I saw a couple of decorations that I wanted to make! I made this banner out of card stock and printed it at our local Office Max and hole punched them and hung it with ribbon.
So I had also saw a cute idea where you make treat bags for the friends to take home and they have cookies in them. Now if your not a hockey fan, this won’t make any sense as to why 3 Oreos are in the bag, but if you are, then you know exactly what it is! In hockey terms, a hat trick is 3 goals in 1 game and Oreo cookies look exactly like hockey pucks so they fit perfect!!
I customized the pattern to match our favorite team colors (DETROIT RED WINGS) and they were a HIT! I have the digital patterns for sale on my Etsy shop if you’d like to purchase your own. I also have other team colors on there too. If you would like a specific team that you don’t see, just ask and I can coordinate it to match your team colors. https://www.etsy.com/listing/267321820/hat-trick-bag-hockey-birthday-party

Most of us here in Michigan had an extra long weekend, and no not because of the Super Bowl! We had a big snow storm here last night and most of us are snowed in!! The kids had a snow day and I had a work snow day! It’s such a great feeling to work for a great company that is so thoughtful for their employee’s and their safety!!
So anyways, with an extra day to be home and craft, I decided to finish up a few Etsy orders and get some new things out there for folks to purchase! I just made this super cute Detroit Tiger’s Shirt that I think will be a hot seller since EVERYONE loves the Tigers!
I also designed some Valentine’s Day Cards for my son and decided that why not add them to Etsy to share if anyone else wanted to be able to use them!
Both of my son’s are still playing lots of hockey, either out in our front yard, or at the rink. Caden got to practice with the Michigan State Spartans hockey team on his birthday and that was exciting for him! Brody gets to do it in a couple of weeks. But Brody also got to participate in a shoot-out between periods at the MSU vs OSU hockey game on January 24th and it was such a great experience! We were so proud of him and of course, he SCORED!!!

Hope everyone has a fabulous week!
