So my sons wanted to be creative and make something over the long holiday weekend so we decided to make 4th of July tie dyed shirts to wear. We made extras for other family members and it was so much fun!!
We went to Hobby Lobby and started out with white shirts and a 3 pack of dye. We mostly only used the red and blue so we could be patriotic with our shirts.
We made shirts a few years ago courtesy of JoAnn Fabrics if you’d like to see them, click HERE
We searched the Internet for different patterns and found a couple different cool ones. We tried a few different patterns but one turned out the best.
Let’s get started! We twisted and bunched the shirts up to how we wanted our designs to turn out. Next we started to put the dye on them. Make sure you wear gloves or your hands will turn colors!!
We let them sit in the sun to dry and then rinsed them out to rinse the color out and then washed it in the washing machine.
We decided that the color on Caden’s turned out the best!
It’s a super easy project to do with your kids and they will love to wear their new shirts proudly! 🇺🇸
